Vinyl Requiem posted this Gaara custom munny last week and I forgot to share him. He is the awesomeness! Check the packaging after the jump. The artist, Adrian Tam, is responsible for a couple of the works that have made their way onto various sites, including; Ryu, Akuma and Sam Fisher customs. According to his interview with Vinyl Requiem, you can contact him about comissions. I have to say that his customs are great, but the packaging just adds an extra something to the piece.
Piece: Gaara from Naruto, the items I used was just clay for its sash, and ninja band. The gourd was made of another munnys head, the bomb, and a spray can and then it was just all clayed up. Then I just made a custom box.

A very long time ago I posted some Space Invaders wall decals released by Blik. They were/are awesome. Well, today I found what looked like more wall decals, and instead ended up being something we could all try our very best to do at home. Artist, who I have assumed is “Pyron” has created some great Mario World and Pacman characters using cardboard. He/She [??] cuts the board to display the inner layer, and then paints the necessary areas.
As I had previously updated, Friday was Nakanari and Dave “Outta My Mind” Quiles’ Techno Babble show at MPH. Though I didn’t arrive early, since I had to go to a meeting, I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived to a steady flow of visitors coming in and out of the shop.

My Mr. who’s a long time Resident Evil fan has shown me an upcoming release for Resident Evil paraphernalia. It only makes sense that they’re finally coming out with a RE Umbrella Corp. umbrella. I love it, though, I wish the edges were trimmed in black, it’ll definitely do. I don’t think he’s buying it, because he loses everything. But hopefully I will, I get overprotective about ALL my stuff. Hope it’s good quality, for approx. $30 it better be. You can pre-order it over at [gkworld]

The Kid Robot’s mini munny competition ended long ago, but I can’t help and be dazzled by the designs. I wanted to post Audrey II (Little Shop of Horrors) way back when the competition was taking place, but I kept running into so many designs it was hard to pick the order. But here it is. Feed me!! Anyone up for giving up some blood?
Unfortunately, there’s no additional information about the artist.
The Walking Dead begins with Rick, who until his coma was an active cop, when he wakes up from his coma he wakes up to discover the world he knew before the accident is no longer the world that exists. Something has happened, the dead are not staying dead, instead they are getting back up and attacking the living. In the first volume, Rick quickly begins his search for both his wife and son.
The series, thus far, is convincing since Kirkman really focuses on the psyche of people. The characters, including Rick, are surviving, and it’s through them that we’ll learn to survive.
This video is damn cool, Not sure if the music quite matches the vidoe but I can give that a bye. You have to love that sony poduct placement… well not really.
I found this awesome Zelda Tri-Force charm, and then it got sold out. So I’ll show it to you after the jump
so you don’t instantly fall in love. This Lon-Lon charm however, is very cute. It wouldn’t be such a bad
thing to have some around your neck when you’re in need of energy, no? If you want to purchase the
cute milk bottle, you can buy if from [tiffanybell] for a mere $3.50. Now read on to see the other kick ass, but sadly already sold charm.

Sephiroth had One-Wing in this final form in Final Fantasy 7 but not in his Human form. In Kingdom Hearts both him and Cloud have wings in human form. Also Lance Bass and George Newbern both voiced Sephiroth. All this info will make sense after you listen to the podcast… Trust me.
In the show:
* We have a non epic “ Whatcha Been Playing?”
* We talk a little Final Fantasy 7
* Metroid 2 Remake… Good Idea?
* Street Fighter: The Movie = Bad Idea.
This post is truly in honor of my Mr. and his love for Futurama. The show does totally rule, and it is because of that show that I wish I was a mathmetician just so I could get ALL of their math jokes. I am jealous of you mathmeticians, lucky! Anyways, it seems a few sites have posted about Futurama’s new look, they’ve been legolized. Oh snaps! I just created a verb. Check the rest of the post for more pics.
I must admit that the level of concentration and time that goes into a project like this is unimaginable to me. The most I ever did with lego was build my dream home, this was a VERY long time ago. I never thought about bringing scenery from my favorite shows to life. Maybe, I should consider it.
Finally, what would the world of Futurama be without a drunken Bender? Dull. I love it. I send big props to the artist.
The Second part of the video series Dead Fantasy is up. The series pits the woman of Dead or Alive vs the woman of Final Fantasy. The creator of this video, montyoum just does some amazing stuff. I will include the first video after the jump as well. enjoy…
I have no doubt that the upcoming GI Joe movie is going to be bad… really bad. With that being said, Snake Eyes looks pretty damn awesome. His design really hold up well in this day in age, though I don’t the other “Joes” will. Other then Baroness, You can’t go with a hot woman in a black leather skin-tight jumper.

I’m sure by now, most people have seen the teaser that MPH posted on both their flickr and their forum. The second I saw that red dot, I knew it was something involving TokyoPlastic. Don’t know who or what they are? I’ve posted their flash video here: I ♥ Flash
I love their stuff. For a very long time I searched like madness for one of their 4″ Geishas, and thanks to my Mr., I own the small white one and the two large ones they later distributed. When I spotted the sneak peak, I was estatic. Two weeks ago, I was able to snag a sneak peak at a very small part of the upcoming release. This has just added to the excitement. I can’t release what my eyes have seen, but I did want to say this: their stuff is awesome, they’re a talented group of people and they have yet to fail me with any of their releases. Therefore, I think you should know that their upcoming piece, which I only know will be released in 2008, will definitely be worth it. Woo hoo!
Hi-hi! Yesterday around noon I got a text message from my friend to go with her to Union Sq. to join in on the Pillow Fight. I’ve always wanted to go, and somehow was never aware that there was actually a website that informed people of the date and time. I’m not sure what I was thinking. Nevertheless, every year, I missed the damn pllow fight and somehow would meet up with friends who had participated in it. This year, however, it was different- I went!
I arrived to the area early, to discover that the event was much bigger than I had anticipated. OMG! Union Square is typically a very busy place, but this was massive. I met up with my friends with camera at hand, and posted myself at the “lifeguard” post. There I was, worried that at 3pm, a pillow was going to smash my lens. I was safe though, some guys decided they would protect me, which I appreciated.
Though I myself did not participate with a pillow, photographing the event was so much fun. I wanted to capture the feathers flying up, pillows hitting backs, and hair filled with various pillow stuffing. It was rather thrilling. Check out more images after the jump.

I’ve had my DS for over a year now, and I have to admit that even when I’m not carrying it with me, I’m rather overprotective. I don’t like scratches, fingerprints, smudges, etc. I went to Target last year and they had these cute llittle Badtz Maru and Derrie handbags for little girls, that were the perfect size for the DS, so I bought them. What I should’ve done, was go on etsy. On my search for a “almost one-of-a-kind” pouch for my pencils, I found my “almost-one-of-a-kind” DS pouch. Etsy seller: Janis13, is selling the above Gameboy DS pouch and the one that I purchased. Hit the jump to see the one I purchased and to visit the etsy seller.
Isn’t it the awesomeness? I love it, and if you go to her etsy shop you have a chance to purchase one of your own. Currently, she’s got one more NES controller pouch, and 2 Gameboy pouches. Each pouch costs $13 plush $3 shipping. If you complain about that problem, remember, she stiched them herself!
Question. People know that I try my best to go to ALL the signings and shows in the city, correct? So I wonder, did anyone know about the Tiger Dunny signing that took place yesterday at the ‘Pirate Store?’ Umm, I ask because I didn’t. Not only did I not know, for whatever reason, but no one told me. No one dropped me a line and said, “hey saki, are you going to the signing?” I’m slightly hurt, though I wouldn’t have bought the dunny, this is one less chance of getting Joe Ledbetter’s sketch in my book. How sad am I.
Kaws, you know, vinyl artist extraordinaire, brings us photos of a special gift he just got from R*. Am I excited for GTA IV? Not really. Mostly because I’ve never really sat down and played it, but I do enjoy the art and seeing what’s been done with the latest edition, I may just have to sit and play. I must admit that the trailers are superb and they’re doing a great job with the viral marketing. Anyway, I really like the packaging and especially love the limited branding near the USB connections. Visit Kaw’s blog for more photos.
I’ve been wanting to write this “review” for a while now, but am always getting caught up with other things that I forget to do so. Fall 2004, I fell in love with a band named, Franz Ferdinand. The lead singer had such a smooth yet rough voice and their beats were off the top. That year I went off to college at Adelphi University and began to explore MUSIC. I’ve always listened to music, but I’d never gone out of my way to search for things that weren’t on the top charts. During the same time, iTunes became a very influential tool at school. I would always keep my eyes and ears open to their “artist of the week” and their free downloads. Alright, why the long intro? Well, it was through one of the free downloads that I heard about The Bravery for the first time.
Originally, the first time I had actually heard the band was when they released ” An Honest Mistake.” I remember being in Forever 21, shopping, and hearing this song on the radio. I went to my dorm to look it up on iTunes and I realized it was The Bravery and not Franz Ferdinand. Well, I purchased their album on iTunes and soon realized what a mistake that was. The album was horrible. I only liked two songs and one of them was a freebie.
When they released their second album, I downloaded it. I was prepared for the worst, a repeat of their first really. But, I was soon proven very wrong. I synced my Zune, hopped on the train, and found myself really liking ALL of their songs. They don’t remind me of Franz Ferdinand anymore, now they remind me of The Strokes, who I LOVE!!
I recommend people pick up a copy, or download it. If you like alternative/electronica, you really can’t go wrong. I especially love Fistful of Sand. I know I’m going to sound rather dorky when I admit why I liked this song the most. It had to do with the opening beat [+ the chorus]. Something about this beat made me think of old school video games. I’m not sure why exactly, but it brings a sense of nostalgia and I love it!
The crew has been playing a megaton amount of games. So getting through all of the might takes a while… Talk about a great way to welcome Izzy back into the fold.
In the show:
We have a epic “ Whatcha Been Playing?”
Call of Duty 4 makes Grim Santo feel funny inside.
I swear, communities like Flickr and DeviantArt so rule. You find the most amazing work, and the inspiration you get from looking at the stuff is overwhelming. I’m a huge fan of Peanuts, the comic strip not the nuts. The whole gang are my favorite characters, which rarely happens in my life– me actually falling in love with all the characters instead of one or two. Anyway, DeviantArt user *duss005 uploaded this image last week of this Charlie Brown custom munny, I just had to share.
A gal from the IMO team spotted my “reviews” for instant messaging programs like; Trillian and Digsby. She’s part of the team that is working on releasing IMO, a new instant messaging system that is merging; aim, yahoo, msn and gtalk. They’ve recently added a facebook application too. Currently IMO is still in alpha stage and not ready for public use (well, by the buttload better said). I used both the online access and the desktop system and here is what I think.
After I tested IMO, I responded to the email that was sent to me, and asked who the intended market was, and recieved this response:
In terms of the market we are targeting, our system is definitely very user friend and easy-to-use. For that reason, it has appealed mostly to less computer-efficient people. We are hoping, however, to target all audiences and increase user participation.
It was clear to me when I was using the program that it was overly simplistic. I don’t think this is a negative, especially for their intended market. I’m simply in the need for more features all the time, that this simply was not the messaging application for me. When you visit imo.im, you’re able to log onto your aim on a web-browser window the same way Meebo allows you to. This is a good feature if you use this at work and don’t want to be so obvious about your lack of actual labor.
When incoming messages are coming in, everything is kept in the same window. I know that Trillian introduced the tabbing system, so did dead aim and aol aim, this however just keeps it all to one window. This would’ve been an awesome feature if it hadn’t been that Digsby has also done this.
The sounds are pretty limited to one, which is okay, because it was a whistle. One that wasn’t annoying and wasn’t too loud either. All-in-all, the system would be perfect for people who aren’t dazzled by many features and want something simple that will simply work. I would probably recommend this messaging system to my boss, it’s basic and self-explanitory and won’t confuse the man either. If you want to check it out for yourself, please follow this link. [IMO.im], tell me what you think.
I’ve had this sitting on my desktop for a while. I wanted to apologize for the lack of posts this week– and it seems my site was down all day yesterday. I was working with HostGator to fix the problem, but I gave up because I was making myself feel worse. I don’t like when my site dissapears, its very chilling. Anyway- I’m back up. I don’t have too much information on the above show, but going on the satisfaction I’ve experienced at many other MPH shows, I’m sure its going to rock.
I am in the beginning hours of the new day and what am I doing instead of sleeping? I’m working on the looks of the site. I apologize about the changes. I realize there is a lot of white space on the site [if you come to it directly- does not apply to rss feeds], and I plan on changing the color schemes. I was going to keep it underwraps until the transformation was complete, but then it hit me– I tell you guys all the time that I’m teaching myself css/html and decided that I wanted you to notice me succeed or fail at such attempts. Also, if you happen to know css/html, maybe you want to hook me up with some of your skills?
Anyway. This unfortunately is still not the last time I will change the “theme” of the site. I’m working on something– which I hope really pans out to really make what I think is a serious transformation. I am quite happy to have your support during this time and your patience is most appreciated.
Also, it has very recently come to my attention that my site acts bonkers on Safari. I have Safari on my computer, but it lacks a lot of what I want, therefore, I don’t use it. I had an interview with Jon Schiller and it seems that Safari doesn’t display it. So, please open up the firefox to read the interview. That’s all for now.
P.S. I apologize about the lack of posts this week– it’s been super crazy in my life. I’ve got midterms and stories due… I’m surprised I was able to post anything. I need a vacation. x____x
I’ve mentioned in a previous entry that I’m learning Photoshop on my own these days. Well, whenever people post tips or how-to’s, I rush to my PS application and try my best to replicate what the the piece is teaching. Well, last night, Tina from Swissmiss Blog, posted a “Photoshop Disasters” post and it is hilarious. The post was referring to a Blogger account titled, “Photoshop Disasters” which features lot’s of PS no-no’s. Check out the site, I swear you’ll get a kick out of it. I’m sure I’m going to pay more attention to the images around me now, just to check for mistakes. [Visit Photoshop Disasters]
I found this on one of the forums I go to. I won’t specify which one, because apparently it’s a leaked image and would never want to compromise people and their relationships to the artists. In any case, if someone contacted me about it, I’d take it down– or would (if they asked) give them the source I got it from. ** What do you think? It’s not specified what it is yet, but I like it. He’s cute… and I love the shape of the head and the expression on its face. BONES!!
**Note: In certain situations, to protect sources, I will NOT give them up.
So, I had a ’sit down’- in a very loose sense of the saying- with Jon Schiller, creator of Little 9 and Friends. If you haven’t seen his stuff, you might consider seeing the following posts; Plastic and Plush and ToysREvil for more info. I recently purchased Mookie, the little Earth dog from his collection [image located above] and was a little more than curious to know about him and the designs. Check out the interview after the jump. (more…)
