I have subscribed to tokidoki.it’s rss feed when I realized “Simone” kept a blog there. I used the air quotes because I’m not 100% sure he’s actually doing the updating, but I’m hopeful. Well, to my delightful surprise, the internet was kind enough to share photos from his blog from the Pool Tradeshow that took place in Vegas (Feb. 12th-14th), you can follow the link to learn more about it. Anyways, the images definitely had me screaming in excitement. The following are my priority shots, check them out:
[Tokidoki Mimobots! I love them ALL… especially monkey on the cap!]
[I’m focusing on the Skeletrino [a] vinyls on display. Yay to my collection! The plushies that I’ve been waiting a whole year for and continue to be taunted with displays, and finally the new bags- no longer by LeSportsac, but their very own branding. Have you noticed the change in keychain too?]
Aside from those new plush key chains, I’m excited to see the additional designs of the Tokidoki x Onitsuka Tiger collaboration. From his interview a couple of weeks ago, he shared that the company really gave him control of the design, fabrics, etc.- so I’m really happy that they came out pretty well. I’m not sure whether I really want to own a pair just yet, though I think they don’t come out till later this year. That is all for now, got to finish updating my brain and then go into sleep mode. -_-

Gallery Hanahou
611 Broadway, Suite 730
NYC, NY
This is going to be short, since it’s 2 am and my OCD won’t allow me to go to sleep until I read ALL of my RSS feeds (I only have 687 to go). This Thursday Superdeux will be at Gallery Hanahou to release some:
Custom editions of the artist’s popular Stereotype toy series, limited-edition prints, wall stickers, and other new work.
If you’re in the neighborhood you might want to make your way down there * I’ll be arriving around 7:30, since I still have classes. I will take this opportunity to tell the world that I was sick on Friday and couldn’t go to the show at MPH, and Saturday as much as I tried to get to Tara’s opening (I blame my Mr.) I didn’t make it. I’m planning on going this Friday though to get some shots of her works. Also, Buff Monster giveaway eneded last Saturday and seeing as Nicolle and John were my only commenters (sad for me, great for them) they’re getting stickers in the mail! I should’ve sent it out Sunday, but I realized that I took the time to pick out stationery and envelopes for them, and the Buff Monster postcards don’t fit in them. So, they’ve been sent 2 days late. I apologize for withholding. >_<

Did you know that a new Street Fighter is being released? I found out a couple weeks ago, but I just ran into some screenshots on the net and felt the need to share. I must admit that I really do love street fighter, it really brings out the competitive nature in me. My favorite character is Chun Li, but can you blame me, that woman has some diesel arse legs! Check out the art!

It’s no secret I believe the SNES is the best console ever created. Heck, even CNET agrees with me. Along side my SNES stands one of my favorite games- Mario Paint. One of my favorite features is its music composer. Now-a-days you can find a PC/Mac version of the Mario Paint Composer to make custom tracks. Among the songs that can be made is “Still Alive” from the game Portal. The song is catchy, witty, and delightful. If you’re a fan of Mario Paint or Portal it’s worth checking out.

I wrote about Tara McPherson’s solo show at the Jonathan LeVine Gallery a couple weeks ago. I should’ve written this earlier, but I didn’t get a chance to do so. I’m on my way there now, running late thanks to the Mr., hope to see some of you there and if not… you missed out. Also, Lori Earley is also having a solo show today, same gallery. Two-for-One is the awesomeness.
The above piece is a sneak from tonight’s show, it’s selling for $12,000! I wish I had that kind of loot so I could buy it. Or the balloons canvas. n_n
There is no doubt that Rock Band has been huge success in game, hardware and DLC sales. Several fans in the Rock Band community have requested EA to construct a double bass pedal. Double Bass Pedals are especially affective where speed is needed on the bass drum (i.e. Metal, Rock.) Being a fan of Rock Band, and Metal I thought to give this one a try.
It’s exceptionally simple to “construct” a double bass pedal for Rock Band. All you need is a headphone Y-adapter from Radio Shack, and an extra drum pedal. A drum pedal can be obtained by borrowing a friend’s pedal, or by purchasing a new drum set (not recommended.) You may also obtain one by using EA’s support site and “replacing” your drum pedal for $20. To construct the double bass pedal simply connect the headphone Y-adapter into the drum kit and bass pedals. Double check your connections and make sure everything clicks into place.
Here is a photo of my Rock Band double bass pedal:
Double bass pedals should help in bass heavy songs (i.e. Metallica, NIN, Iron Maiden, etc.) If I were a dummer in real life I’m sure I would have had better results. This double bass pedal setup requires you to alternate both feet quickly. The Rock Band pedal is designed to work in singles. This means open and closed circuits with no in-between middle contact. If one pedal is pressed down, Rock Band will not register the second pedal. In order for this to be effective one foot would have to be completely lifted off the pedal before the other is pressed. This requires speed, and precision, none of which I have.
Based on my drumming “style” (and lack of practice) this was far too dificult. I also felt the need to press harder on the pedal then usual. Perhaps this was caused by my frustration in effectiveness. Until Harmonix/EA releases a double bass pedal, this is your best option. Though I was disappointed with my results, I’ve seen excellent results from others using this method. For now I will continue to practice my single bass pedal technique.

I’ve recently become interested in papercrafts, I blame the Katamari Prince paper craft that was circulating the internet. Anyway, I’ve googled and rss’ed plenty of sites, and today I stumbled upon a new site [for me]. It’s called cubeecraft and I’m already excited to try making all of their selections. The best part, the creator has scheduled new releases. That means, he [or she] is going to provide me with my papercraft needs. Click the thumbnail to download the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, I picked him in honor of my Mr.’s addiction to Ghostbusters!

Did you know that the last plant that still created poloroid cartridges has officially closed? I thought this would be both a great celebration of Poloroid and of Toys. She’s part of the Rolitoland crew, right? I got to look through my collection now… or the net.

A couple days ago I wrote about the Baby Treeson giveaway that Andy over at ToysREvil was hosting. It officially ended today at 10:59am (11:59 pm in Singapore). I am super excited to find out who won. Below are my two submissions, and after the jump you can see my favorite shots from other participants– though I really hope I win. Times are tough these days, and this would really put a smile on my face and lift my spirits.
The Story
At first Minty didn’t get it. Then he realized, her orange and yellow stripes were making him a mad man. He had to tell her how he felt. He just did. He went home and worked on a special gift just for her. When he approached her, she didn’t expect it.
At first she was startled and even pointed her weapon at him. He quivered in fear, as the woman wasn’t just great looking, she was a perfect shot too! She lowered her weapon, looked him in the eyes, and put her defenses down. She accepted with joy, and together they celebrated their ♥ and passion for color. ^_^
The Story
It seems that Ciao Ciao and Adios were destined to be together forever. Once they laid eyes on each other in life they seemed to be inseparable. Every few years they come up to our world, and take advantage of the lovely views. Love is intoxicating and it crosses so many boundaries, including death.

Uh, some people give chocolates and roses for Valentine’s Day. What does Henatron give his wife for Valentine’s? A custom munny of course. Check it out:
I’ve seen another version of a custom Leonidas somewhere on the web, but I have to admit that I’m really loving this little mini munny. Mainly, it’s his weapon and cape that do it for me. Feel free to visit both Hefnatron’s Flickr and personal site for more info and shots.
I’m not totally sure what he is, but I want him. Stat! Andy from TRE wrote about him today, and I really love the design of the vinyl. I like the little mouse too.
I know it’s been a while but we have been busy (Lazy). Izzy sits this one out (Bio Hazard lockdown) but we carry on.
In this Episode:
What’s so great about Burnout Paradise?
YoYo (Cenok) discovers the Joys of PSP gaming.
Cloverfield any good?
And much, much more… well a little more at least.

I barely played GoW pt. 1, this was due to the fact that I get self-conscious playing shooters in front of my Mr. I don’t know why, so don’t ask me. It’s not like he makes fun of me, I just love being great at things and refuse to let people see me when I suck at things. I’m looking forward to Pt. 2, check out the trailer after the jump.
