Space Invaders Cutting Board

Tri-Force Cutting BoardI have to say that if you’re into crafts, I really recommend you visit a crafts website [Click this link for my favorite craft site]. The photo was shared on craftzine and it is oh so cool. If you’re one of those people that have themed rooms, this would go perfect with an 8-bit/ pixelated kind of room, don’t you agree? Captn_sideburns posted some more pictures on his LJ [livejournal for those who don’t know] and the future plans for a Tri-Force cutting board. Oh snaps!! He wrote that he had an extra one, but it seems he’s gotten exposure on BoingBoing and people have been contacting him non-stop. If you want to try your luck, contact him via livejournal mail [?]. The Jewelry Post

I’m not sure how many people use google reader out there. For me, this is the rss reader that made the most sense since I use almost all other aspects of google for the personal and business life. One good thing about Google Reader, and I’m not sure if you’re able to do this with the other readers/bookmarks out there, you can star items. All starred items are placed in a folder and they’re stored there until you remove the star from it. Well, anytime I’m reading the updates from my favorite sites I tend to place a star on things I want to share with my readers. Today, I went back through ALL of my starred items and realized that I had a lot of jewelry saved, so I compiled all the necklaces to create just ONE post with all the necklaces I thought were cool.

Knife Necklace  This particular knife pendant comes from [uncommongoods.com]. It is made out of sterling silver and it will cost you $45. I know it seems a little odd to choose to wear a knife around the neck, and in most cases I would be slightly worried if I saw one of my students wearing this- but this piece is actually an ode to chefs. I thought it was really cute and I’m sure if you’ve got a chef in the family they would appreciate having something like this, or find their favorite tool in the kitchen, I’m sure the pendant will exist somewhere in the world.

<3 Pendant  The following two necklaces come from a site titled: Sweet Tooth Designs. I had to giggle for the two. This day in age kids and adults alike are using all the possible shortcuts on the internet. What better way to show the ‘luv’ than by giving someone a cute little [l33t pendant?] If you want to purchase this necklace for yourself or the internet fiend in your life, it’ll cost you $75.

Gossip Necklace This [word bubble], I almost feel like I should purchase 500 of these for the first day of school. I can’t tell you how many cases I have to deal with on a daily basis about gossiping in the school building. I actually like this word bubble because I think of newspaper comics, but I can’t help and think it’s fitting for every single one of my students. This word bubble will cost $68. Personally, I want to purchase this right now.

Wishbone Necklace

The wishbone on the right is really my favorite of all the necklaces. I’m not sure if it’s the fact that it’s on a pink background and has a glimmer effect, but I think I like the connection of the words: Wish & Bone. Something about it makes me think of kindergarten and the more innocent times of thinking this really would bring me luck. Sometimes I have a kid spirit and this just seems to capture the magic. You can find this bone over at [Peachypan] located in Australia for $11.19 US dollars. I also recommend you check out their other kawaii items, there’s so many.

Vote Necklace Finally, the VOTE necklace. When I was in high school I was very active in politics. I pressured everyone around me to register to vote. I made them see that every vote does make a difference, even if they don’t always see it right away. That was until Bush won and everyone around me tried to prevent me from finding out. They didn’t let me watch tv, they didn’t talk about it, etc. Then my roomate told me “sorry” and the girls came to my room from down the hall apologizing… that’s when I broke down. Well, we’re at another presidential election year and for God’s sake I want people to voice their opinion and not just bitch about the outcome. I hope that with both Obama and Clinton running, there really will be a flood at the voting centers. Buy it, spread the word. Its on sale for [$20 and Bright and Bold]… though not silver, it is silver plated. Think of it as a temporary necklace to spread the message.

Crafting

Stay PuftI’ve recently become interested in papercrafts, I blame the Katamari Prince paper craft that was circulating the internet. Stay Puft PaperCraftAnyway, I’ve googled and rss’ed plenty of sites, and today I stumbled upon a new site [for me]. It’s called cubeecraft and I’m already excited to try making all of their selections. The best part, the creator has scheduled new releases. That means, he [or she] is going to provide me with my papercraft needs. Click the thumbnail to download the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man, I picked him in honor of my Mr.’s addiction to Ghostbusters!
